Sociobioeconomy Fund
The FamaGaia Sociobioeconomy Fund was established as an initiative of Grupo Gaia and fama re.capital to redefine the role of investment funds and promote positive social and environmental impacts by financing sociobioeconomy projects and businesses led by local and traditional communities.
Our goal is to foster sustainable economic and social development while protecting and regenerating Brazil’s biomes through financing projects and businesses that, for various reasons, do not receive adequate economic or technical support from conventional funders.
Our product demonstrate that the capital markets can – and should – offer products with financial, social, and environmental returns that effectively address the challenges of building a more equitable, inclusive, and regenerative economy.
Our investment thesis is based on the intersection of three pillars
1. Increasingly Conscious Investors:
The Fund encourages investors to look beyond profit, to influence the market to make choices not only based on risk and return but also on the social and environmental impacts involved.
2. Resources Reaching On-the-Ground Businesses:
Rather than financing large corporations, the Fund supports well-structured small and medium-sized projects and businesses that implement sustainable and regenerative practices. This ensures that resources are effectively directed towards initiatives that benefit the end user, promoting real and positive social and environmental impacts within communities. We have proven success stories where businesses thrive, leading to increased socio-environmental impact and returns for investors.
3. Network Action:
To cover the entire Brazilian territory and monitor the results and impacts of resource beneficiaries, the Fund establishes partnerships with companies and institutions that already have a local presence. Strategic partnerships are essential to expand impact and use resources effectively.
